Synopsis:
We are pleased to have mark stock present:
"Computational physics and image-making using interacting automata"
In this talk, I will describe and demonstrate the computational
techniques required to simulate galaxies and turbulent fluids, and which were used to create "Open House," my work from COLLISIONeleven. In the process I will cover the relations between such topics as: cellular automata, the N-body problem, vortex methods, radiation, and raytracing.
Much of my research---for work, art, and fun---involves designing and
implementing methods such as these on serial and parallel computers and GPUs.
