Curatoratorial Statement:
AXIOM Gallery presents its next exhibition in collaboration with the Boston based COLLISIONcollective. COLLISION14:pov, the fourteenth COLLISION group show explores interactivity through visual space, physicality and time orientation within the individual. Curated by COLLISIONcollective member William Tremblay, this exhibition features thirteen new works that evoke the dual meanings of the acronym POV: Persistence of Vision and Point of View. These works respond to the spectacle and inconvenience of time as well as our loyalty to its measurement. They suggest that there is stability in repetition and motion in the static. Likewise they place a paradoxical emphasis on communicating a more or less defined viewpoint while often requiring mental or physical contortions of the viewer’s point of view.
